Coronavirus crisis: ALL SESSIONS ONLINE until further notice!
Given the current alarming public health situation, all therapy and counseling sessions are taking place online instead of face-to-face. We use the secure Zoom platform, which does not require any software installation. Shortly before the session, I will email you an invitation to a Zoom meeting with me. Ensure that your webcam with built-in microphone, or a webcam and a separate microphone, is/are connected to your laptop or PC and functioning properly. Then click on the link in the email. The Zoom interface will open in your default browser, enabling us to see each other and talk privately.
NB: Experience and research show that online video sessions are just as effective as face-to-face sessions. To book an online intake session, phone me during practice hours on +31640475088 or mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Students, people on minimum income or social security / welfare and those in financial difficulties are eligible for a reduction, to be decided in consultation with the therapist/counselor.
Currently no waiting list
In contrast to mainstream mental health services, there’s no waiting list: an intake session can be arranged within a few days. The purpose of the intake is to clarify and prioritise your issues and goals, after which focused therapy and counseling begins without delay.
Referral if necessary
NB: I operate as a fully independent caregiver in the alternative/supplementary sector, so clients are NOT entitled to insurance reimbursement. If you cannot afford the sessions yourself, I will refer you to a fully qualified and experienced colleague in the Utrecht region who has the AGB codes that are necessary for reimbursement.
Dutch or English spoken
Sessions can be conducted in either Dutch or English; I am equally fluent in both.
Expat care — visit ExpatCare4U.nl
I have personal and professional experience with the special problems that English-speaking expatriates face by living and working in the Netherlands. Many expats find it difficult to integrate into Dutch society. They find it very challenging to adapt to Dutch culture, with its unfamiliar customs and social codes. Some expats with Dutch partners also struggle with cross-cultural relationship issues. The key challenge is how to find your way and feel at home here — and/or in this relationship — without sacrificing your own identity and individuality.
