Anti-Covid-19 measures: online (Zoom) sessions

Due to the Dutch government’s current anti-Covid-19 measures, ALL sessions will be online, using Zoom, until these measures are relaxed. This is the responsibility we have to take to protect each other’s health.

Since the pandemic began, I have done many online sessions, and my clients have found them to be just as comfortable and effective as face-to-face sessions. Indeed, scientific research has shown that online sessions can be even more effective. They are safer for the client and the therapist. Also, they are a little cheaper.

I will email you a Zoom link a minute or two before the session is due to start. Please check in advance that your webcam is connected and that both video and audio are working correctly.

Limited budget?

Students, people living on minimum income or social security / welfare and those in financial difficulties are eligible for a 20% reduction.

No waiting list

In contrast to mainstream mental health services, there’s no waiting list: an intake session can be arranged within a few days. The purpose of the intake is to clarify and prioritise your issues and goals. Focused therapy and counseling begins without delay.

Referral if necessary

NB: I operate as a fully independent alternative caregiver, so clients are NOT entitled to insurance reimbursement. If you cannot afford the sessions yourself, I can refer you to a colleague in the Utrecht region who has the necessary AGB codes for reimbursement.

Dutch or English spoken

Sessions can be conducted in either Dutch or English; I am equally fluent in both.

Expat care — visit

I have personal and professional experience with the special problems that English-speaking expatriates face by living and working in the Netherlands. Many expats find it difficult to integrate into Dutch society. They find it very challenging to adapt to Dutch culture, with its unfamiliar customs and social codes. Some expats with Dutch partners also struggle with cross-cultural relationship issues. The key challenge is how to find your way and feel at home here — and/or in this relationship — without sacrificing your own identity and individuality.
